Services

Please note that we are currently reliant on a small team of volunteers for service delivery, and as such are very limited in our availability throughout the 2019/20 academic period. We are currently working through a backlog of bookings as best we can. We will do our best to get back to you in order to find suitable dates.

LGBT AND ALLIES: AWARENESS ASSEMBLIES

We have reached over 25,000 young people with our LGBT and Allies Awareness Assemblies, which inspire change through storytelling and experience sharing. We encourage young people to think about their use of language, to challenge stereotypes, to stand up against prejudice, and to ensure that their school community is an inclusive environment for LGBT pupils.

CLASSROOM WORKSHOPS

We deliver classroom based workshops, including an interactive 'Build Your Own Campaign' session which empowers young people in developing ideas to challenge social inequality. Personal experiences are laced throughout.

Other themes covered include tackling prejudices, gender stereotypes, mental wellbeing, and LGBT history.

TEACHER TRAINING: DELIVERING LGBT-INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

“Delivering LGBT-Inclusive Education” is our flagship full-day teacher training programme. This is hosted regionally with rotating events throughout the year. The programme runs with consecutive courses for Primary and Secondary level educators, with a supplementary focus on Additional Support Needs for all attendees. The programme has been created and is delivered by award winning teachers and specialists: John Naples-Campbell, Scott Mowat, and Danielle Campbell.

TEACHER SEMINAR: towards LGBT-INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

We offer a condensed, in-house version of our teacher training programme as a first step for teachers and educators who are keen to begin embedding LGBT themes into classroom content. Over 90 minutes, attendees will be introduced to starting resources, provided with an overview of relevant educational guidance and policies, and will hear the personal experiences of volunteers. This session can be delivered during an in-service day or during twilight hours.

All service deliverers, trainers, and volunteers have active Disclosure checks.
